Jochen Rueckert has been a force in contemporary jazz for decades. Drawing on experience with the Kurt Rosenwinkel Quartet, Sam Yahel Trio, and previous quartets with Mark Turner, Lage Lund, and Mike Moreno, he has toured internationally and performed on stages including the legendary Village Vanguard in New York. As a bandleader and sideman, Rueckert has worked with Fred Hersch, Melissa Aldana, Seamus Blake, Chris Cheek, Marc Copland, and Nils Wogram, cementing his reputation as a versatile and innovative drummer.
Honoring the venue’s incredible grand piano, this performance features local piano hero Will Barry, bringing his signature touch to the ensemble. Together with Rueckert’s quartet, Barry helps create a dynamic live jazz performance that blends energy, swing, and improvisation for a night to remember.
